The new cybercriminal profile
November 2023
The Russian invasion of Ukraine at the beginning of 2022 caused a major unprecedented impact within the cybersecurity ecosystem. Although politically motivated cyberactivity had historically existed, headed by the infamous Anonymous hacktivist group, the Russo-Ukrainian armed conflict brought a hyperactivity of hacktivism. Reports indicate that hacktivist cyberattacks could have increased by a 11% in the first half of 2023. After a year and a half, the hacktivist ecosystem and the underground community clearly keeps reflecting the impact of this new trend.
